Mid Coast Group Training has welcomed Sarsha Woolnough as a Field Officer from the Manning and Great Lakes area. Sarsha is a 6^thgeneration local dairy farming girl with strong roots in the Manning Valley and high hopes to make progress on skilling up the youth of the area.

2011 Netpac NSW Training Awards North Coast Region

Congratulations to Anais Blacklock who has been nominated for the 2011 Trainee of the year Award at the Netpac NSW Training Awards North Coast Region.

Anais is currently completing her Horticulture Certificate III course at Tafe - North Coast Institute ,Wauchope and her Host employer is Port Maquarie Hastings Council.

Further congratulations go to Hayley Cook who has been nominated for the 2011 School Based Apprentice/ Trainee of the Year Award.

Hayley attends Port Macquarie High School and is currently completing her Community Services-Aged Care Certificate III at TAFE - North Coast Institute, Port Macquarie. Her host employer is Bundaleer Care Services.

We wish both girls the best of luck at the up and coming awards night to be held in Coffs Harbour on Friday 17th June 2011

Increased support delivered to Australian apprentices

The Mid-Year Economic and Fiscal Outlook (MYEFO) signals increased support for Australian apprentices as the Gillard Government continues to invest in the skills needed for a strengthening economy. From 1 January 2011, trade apprentices working in ‘skill shortage occupations’ will receive additional tax exempt bonuses of up to $1700 as they reach milestones during their training.

Local Girl wins Hunter Valley Training Company (HVTC) Trainee of the Year Award.

HVTC, parent company of Mid Coast Group Training (MCGT) held its annual awards night in Maitland on the 29/04/2010. Lisa Miles was one of 3 finalists selected from the 8 regional representatives. Lisa became eligible for the award after being awarded the “Best Performance” award for a Trainee at the Mid Coast Group Training awards night in September 2009.
