Starting with Century 21 in 2004, Sarsha completed Certificate 4 in Business Marketing as a trainee in 2006 and went on to win North Coast Trainee of the Year. In 2007 Sarsha was announced the NSW Trainee of the Year and went on to be a finalist at the National Training Awards in Hobart. Since that time she has been an advocate for vocational training speaking at both state and federal government events, private functions, schools and even emceeing functions and awards nights all over Australia promoting vocational pathways to potential learners and future trainee / apprentice employers.

Additionally in 2008 and 2009 Sarsha was a member of the Australian Apprenticeship Roundtable attending meetings nationwide as part of the information and communication team, researching why more young people aren’t undertaking traineeships.

Experience is the major point of difference between Mid Coast Group Training’s newest employee and any other training company. Sarsha hasn’t just been a successful trainee, she has also taken on a trainee herself in real estate and led her team to take out the NSW Small Business of The Year last year for training, development and commitment to learning at the NSW training awards.

“Having been a trainee and employing a trainee, i have seen both sides and understand how vital it is to have a support network with guidance and practical, first hand advice. I also recognise the importance of having someone like myself to link / support the apprentice / trainee, the employer and training provider for overall satisfaction and success”.

“My aim is to see greater success rates, stronger promotion of vocational  pathways and apprenticeships / traineeships through schools and provide a support network to our employees that leaves the students encouraging others to follow on the apprenticeship/ traineeship pathway. Through regular visits with the host and apprentice / trainee Sarsha aims to be more than just a field officer but an integral part of the team and link pin between the employee / employer and the training provider going over and above. I think the key is to have a sound relationship with the both the teacher and the employer so we are all working towards a common goal”.

Right now, the focus is on school based apprenticeships and traineeships, promoting the need for local businesses and schools to work together to build skilled employees that can establish careers locally.

For businesses, large or small, this is a cost effective option to gain an extra employee, that can be trained to suit your business needs with the support of Mid Coast Group Training.
