Host Employers

What is a Host Employer?

Host Employer means an organisation that hosts, under a written agreement, an apprentice or trainee employed by a group training organisation.

How do Host Employers fit into the Group Training scheme?

Group Training refers to the employment of a New Apprentice by one company and the on-hiring of that New Apprentice to a Host Employer for an agreed period of time. MCGT undertakes the employer responsibilities for the quality and continuity of the apprentices' and trainees' employment and training while, the Host Employer provides employment, on-job training and pays for hours worked by way of a weekly invoice. MCGT also manages the additional care and support necessary to achieve the successful completion of the training contract. This provides a simple and flexible arrangement for the employment of New Apprentices.
